‘Rock The Pink’ Rotary ball a success

-A A +A

Editor:

On behalf of the Carrollton Rotary Club, we extend a big thanks to our member Nick Marsh for leading the way to revive our winter ball, this year known as Rock The Pink. Early estimates indicate we netted approximately $9,000 which will go towardsthe purchase of a digital mammography machine at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.

Rock The Pink is the kick-off for a two-year campaign to raise $180,000, the cost of the unit. Pledge forms are available in the Administration office at the hospital or at www.carrolltonrotaryclub.org. Donations are tax deductible. Checks may be payable to Carrollton Rotary Club Foundation and mailed to P.O. Box 631, Carrollton 41008. If your group wishes to hold a fundraiser for the equipment, please contact Marsh at 732-4281.

We extend our appreciation to the following without whose support and participation the event would not have been successful: Herb Kinman and friends TG Sheppard and Kelly Lang; Carroll County Chamber of Commerce; WAVE 3’s Janelle MacDonald; Butler State Resort Park Convention Center’s staff; Valerie Husband; Harold and Teresa Lewis; Carolyn Jones; Miriam Jones; Larry Willhoite; Beth Toombs; Lauren Toombs; Patsy Stewart; Fun Zone Inflatables; TH Photography; and The Old Oak Frame Shop.   Thanks to all who donated art for the auction: Ann Deatherage; Dr. Sherrell and Martha Nunnelley; New Horizons Assisted Living; Governor and Mrs. Steve Beshear; Cornerstone Floral and Gifts; and Tim Hendrick.  Thank you cancer survivors for sharing your stories. And finally thanks to all of you who bought tables, individual tickets and made cash donations. May we keep the momentum going!
