FRANKFORT — An unprecedented number of distracted driving citations were issued June 20-26, during a multi-agency enforcement campaign called the “Six State Trooper Project.”
Kentucky State Police joined forces with state police agencies from Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Indiana on major interstates. A total of nearly 2,000 citations were handed out for infractions including texting or using a cell phone while behind the wheel and for reckless or careless driving.
