ALC’s ‘Come Back Kids’ is one of a kind in state

Lisa James has been working to improve opportunities for students to participate in the arts since she became superintendent of the Carroll County School District in 2008, so when Jeff Root, former band director at Carroll County High School, decided to come out of retirement to accept a job at the Carroll County Alternative Learning Center this fall, James asked Root if he would be interested in starting a music ensemble at his new school.
