A brush fire started by a property owner led to the total loss of a Trimble County barn Monday night.
Firefighters from Bedford and Milton’s volunteer departments were called to the scene at 8:34 p.m., along with Trimble County Sheriff Tim Coons and troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 5, according to a KSP dispatcher.
Coons said Tuesday morning that the barn, owned by Chuck Willis and located at 4991 U.S. 42, was a total loss. He said the dry conditions and gusty winds caused sparks and embers from the brush fire to ignite the barn.
