In a brief first meeting of 2013, the Carroll County Board of Education voted to keep its officers in place, as well as officers for the Carroll County School District Finance Corporation.

Mona Kindoll was voted to remain as chairman and Carolyn Jones vice chairman of both entities. Jon Conrad remains as the treasurer for the board and the corporation; James Crawford remains as the attorney for the board and the corporation.

The only other business was to approve the hiring of an additional cafeteria employee at Kathryn Winn Primary School and to approve the meeting schedule for the rest of the year. All board meetings will begin at 5 p.m.

On the following dates, the board will meet in the Carroll County High School media center: Jan. 24, Feb. 21, April 16 and 18 (with the school councils), June 20, July 25, Oct. 24, Nov. 21 and Dec. 19.

On March 28, the board will meet at Carroll County Middle School; on April 25, Cartmell Elementary School; on May 23, Kathryn Winn; on Aug. 22, the Alternative Learning Center; and on Sept. 26, the Carroll County Child Development Center.
