A middle school football jamboree and a digital photography class are joining forces Saturday, Aug. 16 for a first ever Bowlarama.

Twelve middle school teams will invade Panther Field at the Carroll County High School complex and Tim Hendricks will be conducting a photography class using the football games as the subject matter.

The kick-off will begin at 9 a.m. with Walton-Verona taking on Shelby County. Game two begins at 11 a.m. when Gallatin County meets Bracken County. Capital City of Frankfort will get down and dirty with Bloomfield middle school at 1 p.m.

The 3 p.m. game remains “iffy,”  according to John Boothe, Carroll County Middle School football coach and sponsor of the jamboree.  Eminence will be playing, but their opponent has not yet been named.

Owen County and Berea Middle School will meet on the field at 5 p.m. and the Carroll County Middle School Panthers will host the Bulldogs of Madison, Ind., Junior High at 7 p.m.

The photography class will begin at 10 a.m. and teach the basics of freezing action, anticipating action and managing light.

The class is free, but participants must pay the price of admission to the games.

Those interested in the class can registed by calling Tim Hendrick at the Carroll County Extension office at (502) 732-7030.
