Boys finish third, girls fourth in NCKC Tournament

The Carroll County High School golf teams competed in the NCKC tournament Tuesday at Fairway Golf Course.

Senior Hannah McMahan, junior Clint Burgess and eighth-grader Blake Belcher were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Competing in the tournament with Carroll County were Trimble, Gallatin, Owen and Henry counties and Walton-Verona and Williamstown. The top four golfers from each team contributed to the team score.

The Panthers finished in third place with a score of 346. Walton-Verona won with a score of 324.

Burgess shot an 84 for seventh place, while Belcher shot an 87, tied for 12th place and Levi Stephenson scored an 89, Justin Ray scored a 90 and Bryan Taylor scored a 94.

The Lady Panthers finished in fourth place with a team score of 435. Owen County won, shooting a 380. Gallatin did not have a team score because they only had three players.

McMahan came in fifth place, shooting a 91. Natalie Bennett shot a 108; Jadyn Bailey and Ciara Hamilton both scored a 118; and Taylor Napier scored a 127.
