Boys suffer rough start to 2009-10

TCHS Correspondent   Trimble County’s boys varsity basketball team had a fight on its hands in its first game of the season  against the Henry County High School Wildcats. But in the end, it was the Wildcats who claimed the day, beating the Raiders by just three points, 40-37.  Josh Edington, Justin Webb and Trent Green led the game, scoring eight points each; they were followed by Craig Ward with seven points; Zach Adair, four points; and Ethan Turner, 2. Henry County’s  Conner Jefferies led the Wildcats with 11 points.  The boys suffered a third-straight loss Monday night to the Gallatin County Wildcats, with a final score of 72-43. They were to host Owen County at home Tuesday night, Dec. 8, after press time.

Lady Raiders

The Lady Raiders started the season with a 48-44 win against the Gallatin Lady Wildcats on Nov. 30, but followed up with two losses – 55-40 to the Carroll County Lady Panthers on Friday, Dec. 4, and 51-40 Monday night against Grant County. The girls were scheduled to play Owen County Lady Rebels on Tuesday night, Dec. 8, after deadline. The next home game for both varsity teams is Friday, Dec. 11, against Williamstown. The girls game starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys varsity game at 7:30.
