Boys tennis 3rd in NAS tourney

The Panthers tennis team finished in third place at the North American Stainless Invitational Tournament Saturday held at Carroll County High School. The team dropped their first match to Gallatin County, but won against Erlanger Lloyd.

Eighth grader Raven Powers continued to impress, capturing Carroll’s only win against Gallatin County.

In No. 1 singles, Josh McCarty lost to Gallatin’s Joseph Ackermann, 4-6, 1-6. In No. 2 singles, Powers defeated Chris Williamson 6-4, 6-3. In his singles debut, Joe Gemmer lost to Caleb Zubaty 4-6, 2-6.

In No. 1 doubles, Brandon Stewart and Ryan Miles lost 4-6, 3-6 to Eli and Luke Ackerman. In No. 2 doubles, Nick Carroll and Dakota Corbin lost to Dustin Wilson and Jack Wright 4-6, 6-4, 10-12.

The Panthers finished 3-2 against Erlanger Lloyd. In No. 1 singles, Ryan Miles lost 0-6, 3-6. In No. 2 singles, Raven Powers lost 4-6, 6-2, 10-12. In No. 3 singles, Josh McCarty won in a forfeit.

In No. 1 doubles, Gabe Kates and Thomas Hill won 6-4, 7-6, 7-1. In No. 2 doubles, Dakota Corbin and Nick Carroll won 6-1, 6-0.
