ArvinMeritor officials Wednesday notified United Auto Workers Union Lcal 1813 that the Carrollton plant on U.S. 42 will be closed.

Company officials previously announced plans to close the machining operations and keep the foundry operating at the plant. But, following a Wednesday morning meeting with U.A.W. local 1813 members and its employees, ArvinMeritor sent out a news release stating plans to shut down entire plant, terminating 129 employees.
