Carroll County Fiscal Court agreed to issue a burn warning, instead of putting a burn ban in place as some 70 other Kentucky counties have done due to the heat and dry conditions.
Judge-Executive Harold “Shorty” Tomlinson told fiscal court at its Friday meeting that he doesn’t want to put a burn ban in place because it would restrict use of fireworks and mean that those camping in the county, at places such as General Butler State Resort Park, could not make fires or use grills.
