Kentucky State Police are conducting a death investigation after a woman was found floating in the Little Kentucky River near the Sulphur dam Friday, Nov. 4. Post No. 5 dispatchers received a 911 call at 12:48 p.m. reporting that a body had been located floating in the water near the dam.
Following an autopsy by the Louisville Medical Examiner’s office, investigators determined that Mamie G. McCane, 70, of Campbellsburg died from drowning, according to the news release. Preliminary findings indicate that no foul play is suspected.
