Carrollton Lions Club meeting at noon at Butler Park lodge.

Carroll County Water District No. 1 meets at 3 p.m. at the office, 205 Main Cross St., Ghent.

Carroll County Tobacco Festival Committee meets, 6:30 p.m., at Welch’s Riverside Restaurant. 

Carroll County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Awards and Recognition Banquet will be at the General Butler State Resort Conference Center. Silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per person or $240 for a table of eight. All money raised will benefit local scholarships. 

Narcotics Anonymous meets at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at Carrollton Christian Church, 310 Fifth St.

Friday, Aug. 15

Carrollton City Council holds a special meeting at 10 a.m. at city hall.

AA Big Book study groups meets every Friday at 2 p.m. at Carrollton Christian Church, 310 Fifth St.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. every Friday at the Warsaw First Christian Church, 207 W. High St., Warsaw.

General Butler State Resort Park in partnership with the Carroll County Library will offer Outdoor Movies Under the Stars, free and open to the general public, held at the park front entrance near the mini golf course, starting at 9 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 16

Kentucky River Canoe and Kayak Excursions on the Kentucky River, 4.1 mile blue-way trail will begin at lock No. 1 and flow into the Ohio River, taking out at Carrollton’s Point Park. Estimated paddling time is 2.5 to 3 hours. Two Rivers Adventures, a local outfitter will be conducting this adventure.

Monday, Aug. 18

Main Street Program Board meets at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall on Clay Street. 

TOPS weight-loss group meets every Monday at the Senior Citizens of Northern Kentucky Center, 110 Sixth St., Carrollton. Weigh-in is 4-5:45 p.m.; meeting begins at 6 p.m. First visit is free. Call Donna Dameron leader at (859) 643-0375. Fee.
