Saturday, Sept. 1

General Butler State Resort Park is hosting its annual Goldenrod Gala Arts Festival, rain or shine, from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. A free family event includes handcrafted items, local merchants, civic clubs and organizations, variety of demonstrators, food concessions, all day music entertainment, farmers market, plus mini-golf, Ky. Flyer Train and boat rentals are just a few of what will be offered. Also during the Gala, the Kentucky Chautauqua presents “Grandpa Jones: Country Musician and Comic,” portrayed by David Hurt. First Friday on the Courthouse Square runs from 4-8 p.m. in downtown Carrollton, featuring the Kentucky Kruizers, RiverView Farmers Market, live music, games, food and more. Free.
