Thursday, July 17

Carrollton Homemakers Club meets at 10:30 a.m. at the Carroll County Extension Office on Floyd Drive.

West Carroll Water District meets at 6 p.m. in the conference room at Carrollton Utilities, 225 Sixth St.

Champions for a Drug Free Carroll County holds a town hall meeting on heroin from 6-7:30 p.m.  at Worthville Community Park. State trooper Dave Roberts will be the featured speaker. The event includes free food and resources on prevention and drug abuse.

Narcotics Anonymous meets at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at Carrollton Christian Church, 310 Fifth St.

Alcoholics Anonymous, 8 p.m., Carrollton Christian Church.

Friday, July 18

Carroll County Public Library Board of Directors meets at noon at the library, 136 Court St., Carrollton.

AA Big Book study groups meets every Friday at 2 p.m. at Carrollton Christian Church, 310 Fifth St.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 8 p.m. every Friday at the Warsaw First Christian Church, 207 W. High St., Warsaw.

General Butler State Resort Park in partnership with the Carroll County Library will offer, Outdoor Movies Under the Stars, free and open to the general public, held at the park front entrance near the mini golf course, starting at 9 p.m.

Saturday,  July 19

General Butler State Resort Park and Friends of Butler present the 2014 Backyard Concert Series beginning at 7 p.m. and located on the Butler-Turpin State Historic House lawn. This free concert will feature Kentucky Blue.

Kentucky River Canoe and Kayak Excursions on the Kentucky River, 4.1 mile blue-way trail will begin at lock No. 1 and flow into the Ohio River, taking out at Carrollton’s Point Park. Those needing to rent a one person Kayak, cost is $40, this includes lunch, a two person canoe will cost $60 and includes lunch. No rental needed the cost will be $20 per person and includes lunch. Must be 18 years or older, or if younger an adult guardian is required for entire excursion.

Monday, July 21

Cartmell Elementary School Site Based Decision Making Council meets at 3:30 p.m. an the school.

Hawk Eye Golf League will offer a Wacked-Out Scramble, organized through General Butler State Resort Park, 9-Hole Pro Shop and Recreation Department. Cost is $7.50 per person per Wednesday night. Bring best foursome or come solo and be placed on a team.

Lions Club meets at noon at Butler Park lodge.

Carroll County Board of Education meets 5 p.m. in the middle school media center.

Carroll County High School football boosters meet at 6 p.m. at the high school media center.

Carroll County Republican party will meet 7 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month on the second floor of the old court house.

Carrollton/Carroll County Tourism board meets at noon at the Tourism office, 515 Highland Ave.
