Saturday, Oct. 27
“Make a Difference Day” Project Comfort Blitz Day will be held as volunteers from all over the county spend the morning winterizing homes and doing minor repairs for senior home owners. Talented construction workers will form teams with the rest of us to create more livable homes for the senior citizens among us. Everyone is needed despite their knowledge of construction. Coffee, juice and doughnuts will be provided at the First Baptist Church at 8 a.m. The event will finish with lunch at the Carrollton Christian Church.
The American Legion Riders of Post 41 meet at the Legion Hall, 123 Fifth St., Carrollton. Members of the Legion, Sons of the American Legion or the Ladies Auxiliary who own motorcycles of 350cc or larger are welcome. Call (502) 732-4941 for more information.

Fifth Annual Shop With A Cop Poker Run begins at 9 a.m. in Butler State Resort Park. $15 per rider, $25 per couple, $5 charge for additional poker had. All proceeds go to Shop With A Cop. The ride will run about 100 miles ending at the Carrollton Police Department on Clay Street in Carrollton. Chili, sandwiches, drinks will be provided. 50/50 raffle, door prizes, live auction with 200 CC dirt bike and other items will be offered. For information call Ron Jones (502) 525-9363.
