Carroll County District Court Public Records: Week of June 15, 2011

John R. Brown, 33, theft by deception including cold checks under $10,000, continued to July 7.

Betty Shearer, 49, fraudulent use of credit card over $100 within a six month period, preliminary hearing June 23.

MISDEMEANOR

Crystal Oakes, no age given, third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, court notice, trial in absence June 22.

Latosha Hughes, no age given, third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, guilty, Administrative Office of the Courts, diversion, continued to Dec. 21, show cause Dec. 21.

Shannon Wyman, no age given, third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, dismissed without prejudice.

Jacob E. Hunt, 22, alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense; possession of synthetic cannabinoid agonists or piperazines; drug paraphernalia, buy/possess, continued first appearance June 23.

Wedad F. Otman, 48, theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting, amend to first-degree criminal trespassing, guilty, $500 fine plus 30 days serve, conditionally discharged for two years if no further offenses, pay court costs, apply bond, to stay out of Butler Mall.

Tiffany E. Helvey, 18,  theft by unlawful taking, pleaded not guilty, continued to June 23.

Dereck E. Mershall, 46, possession of marijuana, guilty, $200 fine plus 30 days conditionally discharged for two years to drug assessment by Kentucky Alternative Program; drug paraphernalia, buy/possess, guilty, $250 fine and pay court costs.

Ruby Robinson, 39, controlled substance prescription not in original container, first offense, pleaded not guilty, continued to June 23.

Jonathan C. Coombs, 18, one headlight; rear license not illuminated; failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first offense; no operators/moped license; possession of marijuana; carrying a concealed deadly weapon, continued to June 23.

Duke D.
