Carroll golf sweeps Trimble at home

Carroll County was victorious Monday on their home course against border rival Trimble County. The Lady Panthers shot a season low in their 204-251 victory over the Lady Raiders, while the Panthers avenged a previous loss to the Raiders, pulling out a 173-175 win.


Quincy Hogan led the girls’ team, shooting a 36. Hannah McMahan shot a 54; Taylor Hayden, 56; Ciara Hamilton, 57; Ashli Childs, 58; and Jadyn Bailey, 66. The Lady Panthers were in action Tuesday at Fairway golf course in Owenton for the All-A Classic. Results were unavailable by press time.

The Panthers knocked 15 points off of their previous score against the Raiders at Trimble Wednesday, Aug. 17 to squeeze by the visitors. John Michael Williams led the team, shooting a 38, followed closely behind by Nick Abbott, 40. Zach Beckham shot a 45; Jacob Meadows, 50; Thomas Hill, 56; and Travis Ellis, 58.

“I am so proud of this group,” head coach Warren McEuen said. “This was my last dual match with the Raiders, so it is one of the sweetest wins in the last ten years.”
