Carroll harriers scramble in two meets

Carroll County High School hosted the Carroll County Invitational cross country meet last week. Lady Panthers runners finished fourth overall in the event. Carroll finished sixth in the boys’ meet.

Times for Carroll’s girls were: Brittany Arvin finished 16th with a time of 24:02.6; Kirsten Arvin, 24:05.1, 17th; Mary Hill, 25:46.3, 20th; Sydney Brewer, 25:52.6, 21st; Mikaila Woods, 26:03.0, 22nd; and Kimberly Ketterer, 29:23.7, 25th.  Andrea Hardesty had a time of 31:21.6, while sophomore Ana Jimenez Luttrell ran the course in 31:23.0.

In boys’ competition, Micah Jones placed 17th with a time of 19:42.3. Other results were Michael Hedges, 21:11.8, 22nd; Avery Franklin, 21:54.9, 24th; Ethan Stewart, 21:56.6, 25th; and Jacinto Martinez, 26:39.8, 36th.

The Panthers returned to action Saturday in a race at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, competing against more than 90 teams with over 2,200 runners in the 33rd Lexington Catholic Meet.

The Lady Panthers placed 30th as a team. Individual achievements included Brittany Arvin, 24:22.66, 114th; Kirsten Arvin, 24:55.29, 132nd; Brewer, 25:19.85, 145th; Ketterer, 26:56.62, 191st; Hill, 28:59.78, 216th; Jimenez Luttrell, 32:31.28, 227th; and Woods, 32:31.54, 228th.

Carroll County fell short of the five runners needed to make a complete team in the boys’ competition.

Individual times for the boys included Jones, 20:09.47, 183rd; Hedges, 21:46.75, 261st; Stewart, 21:47.59, 262nd; and Franklin, 25:21.18, 323rd.

The Panthers will be in action Saturday in the Trimble County Invitational Meet in their final appearance before the regional. meet.
