Carroll holds Oldham in check, fall 3-0 in the 8th Region Tournament

-A A +A
By Kristin Beck

The Carroll County Panthers “played for pride” Tuesday night in the second round of the boys soccer 8th Region Tournament. Faced with the David vs. Goliath scenario, the Panthers faced No. 4-ranked Oldham County and opted for a defensive strategy, packing it in and playing five defenders on the back line. This limited the team’s offensive capabilities, as the Panthers took just two shots on goal in the first half and none in the second. Colonel senior Clayton Wirth scored a hat trick, as the Colonels won the game 3-0.
