All state qualifiers from the Carroll County track team running events were freshman girls and they managed to slice 16 seconds off their best time, according to head coach Joe Creager.

The 4 X 800 relay team of Nikki Hill, Andie Hardesty, Brittany Arvin, Sydney Brewer and Ana Jimenez had an outstanding showing of their running abilities even though they were some of the youngest at the meet, Creager said.

The state meet on Saturday, May 23 was the final event of the year and all the talent there might have caused some of Creager’s runners to second-guess their own abilities, he said.  But he added he was very proud of the effort of the seven who qualified.

Teila Winburn competed in the 100 meter hurdles and Chris Satterly competed in the 300 meter hurdles.

Creager said he hopes people will congratulate his team if they are seen in the halls of school or out in public for their excellent competition.
