Carrollton City Council approved trick-or-treating for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, within the city limits during its meeting Monday night. Police Chief Mike Willhoite said this is in line with the traditional time and date used in the past. Fire Prevention Officer Greg Beck said Carrollton Fire Department will host Halloween at CFD during this time, pulling out trucks and handing out candy to the children.

Carrollton City Council voted Monday night to approve two street closings for special events planned by local churches. Council agreed to allow the Carrollton United Methodist Church to close Fourth Street from Highland Avenue to Sycamore Street between 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31 for a Halloween program.
The Carrollton Christian Church won approval to close Fifth Street between Sycamore and Seminary streets from 2-5 p.m. for a special program set for Oct. 21.
