Carrollton Woman’s Club meets with district governors

On Aug. 7 at 7 p.m., Carrollton Woman’s Club met at Pat’s Place on Seminary Street, 11 women and two guests were in attendance.

The club was honored to have past Gov. Karen Moreland who is the current conservation chairman of Fifth District and Vice Gov. Beverly Pilgram from Northern Kentucky’s Betty Carter Morgan Club.

Karen Claiborne passed out yearbooks and members have paid dues. Karen Moreland told the club about possible ways to conserve, re-use and recycle various resources. Beverly Pilgram passed out leaflets talking about Project Pink and how members are to transport women who have breast cancer to various resources such as mammograms, cancer treatments, special clothing and redos to treatments.

On Saturday, Sept. 22 Carrollton Woman’s Club will host a Fifth District Fall Conference that features an art show.

Karen Moreland provided members with beaded conservation pens, offering projects they can initiate. Norma Handley was hostess, presiding at the meeting and giving an inspiring devotional.

Members brought canned goods for the Food Bank at St. John’s Catholic Church.

The meeting was adjourned after a reading of the club collect.
