Editor:
It’s that time of year again. Carroll County Animal Support members are working to plan and prepare for our third annual Chili Supper fundraiser.
As in the past, we will have a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing and a bake sale. And, of course, we will have an assortment of yummy, homemade chili, sandwiches and desserts.
Our members soon will be hitting the streets to collect donations to fill the baskets that will be up for bid during the auction. If you are a business or an individual interested in donating and want to go ahead and have us collect items, just call me at (502) 732-6040.
Also, we can always use volunteers to help us cook the chili, which must be done on site, make sandwiches and help us run the event so that everything goes smoothly.
All money raised will go directly to Carroll County Animal Support to cover our veterinary costs for animals we care for and get into rescue or adoptions. We also use these funds to pay for food and other necessities needed while caring for foster animals. These animals are pulled from the Carroll County Shelter or surrendered to us by their owners. Some are found wandering loose (sometimes injured) and brought to us, too.
Our group operates completely on the generous donations we’ve received from Carroll County residents and businesses. We appreciate all the years of support we’ve received.
We are ready to have another successful supper. Great food, great fun and great entertainment. So mark Feb. 26 on your calendars. We will announce the location once that is finalized.
Thank you again.
