Carroll County High School boys took first place overall out of seven teams in the home track meet Tuesday. Down some key athletes, the girls finished in fifth place, but were within 13 points of finishing second.

However, it almost looked like the meet would not even happen. Head coach Joe Creager said at about 11 a.m., lanes 1 and 2 were still completely covered in water from the soaking the area endured the day before. The teams were also unable to compete in discus because of the wet conditions.

The Panthers hosted Trimble County, Owen County, Grant County, Eminence, Henry County and Williamstown in the all-comers meet.
