CFD thanks community for help, donation to Crusade

-A A +A

This year’s WHAS Crusade for Children was a success.

We raised $4,732 during our weekend fundraising activities. This money will go to some very needy causes in and around our communities.

This could not have been possible without a lot of participation from many different groups and individuals, including the Westside Fire Department, Carroll County Rescue Squad, Boy Scouts Troop 131, Cub Scout Pack 418, Girl Scout Troop 38, and many community volunteers.

We would also like to thank the businesses that fed our volunteers during the door-to-door and roadblocks: Subway of downtown Carrollton, Subway of Highway 227, Papa Johns Pizza, Snappy Tomato Pizza, Hometown Pizza and KFC.  A special thanks to the ladies of First National Bank who assisted with our banking needs and the volunteers who assisted counting all those coins!

A special thank you goesto the Kentucky Kruizers for all their support throughout the year and the many individuals who made significant donations to the cause.

Thank you all so very much and we look forward to the fall season as our annual charity golf scramble gears up.

This year will mark 11 years raising money for the Christmas with a Fireman Program.
