The Carrollton Woman’s meeting was held at Pat’s Place Sept. 6 at 7 p.m.

Carolyn Stout, education program chairman, introduced Carroll County Public Library Director Hillary Arney, who told about the library being funded 85 percent by taxes. She said that so many services are being offered through the library to Carroll County Citizens that it makes it a real bargain.

New services at the library are a Yoga instructor on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Zumba lessons in the afternoons, a new younger woman’s book club and new computer classes for job literacy. Individuals also are receiving help to download library books onto the e-reader.

Arney said the money from books people donate to the library can be used for scholarships. The library budgets $1,000 for college scholarships each year.

Hostesses for the evening were Carolyn Stout and Vice-Governor Karen Claiborne.

A brief business meeting followed desert and next months plans for the trip to Dinsmore House in Northern Kentucky were made. The next meeting is Oct. 11. Members will carpool to the historic home for a tour and catered luncheon.
