Community input sought for possible museum

We need the community’s help. The Carroll County Tobacco Festival Committee has been approached by several citizens to consider coordinating the development of a museum.

The museum would feature items of historical significance that would reflect the history of Carroll and neighboring counties.

The first step is to conduct a feasibility study that includes availability of a facility, funding sources such as grants and private donations, accessibility of historical items, insurance, security, ongoing expenses, parking, employees, and more.

As a part of the feasibility study, we would like to hear from the Carrollton community. Tell us if you like the idea, and if you believe a museum would be beneficial for residents and visitors. Would it support the school curriculum?

Questions, concerns and ideas may be shared with the committee by contacting: Junior Welch, (502) 376-2259, or Marjorie Bowers, (502) 732-9938, or send an e-mail to cctobfest@yahoo.com. You may also mail a letter to us at P.O. Box 343, Carrollton, KY 41008.
