Motorists planning to travel Interstate 71 beware — road work on the highway gets underway Friday and could slow travel, especially on nights and weekends.
Carroll County Judge-Executive Harold “Shorty” Tomlinson said Monday that crews will begin the $11.6 million project Oct. 5 in the evening hours. To minimize disruption of business travel, he said, the work will be performed at night and on weekends. He expects the evening work could begin around 7 p.m.
