Costs rise for county-provided insurance

-A A +A
By Jeff Moore

Some of Carroll County’s 58 employees will face increased costs for their health insurance copays and deductibles in 2011, but much of the burden falls on the county  as premiums increase by 10 percent next year
Healthcare coverage, which the county provides for its employees, will cost about $800,000 in 2011.
At its Nov. 23 meeting, Carroll County Fiscal Court voted to keep its insurance with United Healthcare, the current carrier, after a review of more than a dozen different options that included proposals from Anthem and Bluegrass Insurance.
