The Panther cross country team participated as one of 38 teams in the Grant County Invite on Saturday Sept. 11.
The team only had two representatives from Carroll County High School, senior Ethan Stewart who ran in the boys’ varsity race and junior Brittany Arvin who ran in the girls’ junior varsity race.
The middle school team had four runners, girls Kirsten Arvin and Haley Dermon and boys Alex Jeffrey and Austin Rose.
The elementary school team was well represented with 11 runners from Cartmell Elementary and one sixth grader from Carroll County Middle School competing for the Panthers: Clara Tuttle, Araya Edmonson, Brittany Foreman, Samantha Foreman, Angel Rameriz, Tori Burgin, Matthew Burrell, Christopher Tillette, Ashton Arvin, Michael Rose, Trystan Amick, and Jordan Perry.
Brittany Arvin finished 31st out of 114 in the girls’ JV 5K race. Kirsten Arvin finished 10th out of 110 and Dermon finished 52nd in the girls’ middle school 3K race. Tuttle finished 47th and Burgin finished out of 88 in the girls’ elementary 1 mile race. Perry finished 45th and Amick finished 53rd out of 129 in the boys’ elementary 1 mile race.
Only the elementary teams were eligible for a team score because they had more than five members. The girls’ team finished 7th and the boys’ team finished 10th.
