Daisy E. Young Hughes, 63

CARROLLTON, Ky.—Daisy E. Young Hughes, 63, of Carrollton, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

Mrs. Hughes was born, Dec. 19, 1948, in Carrollton to the late Charles William and Rita Mary Piggott Young. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Hughes was a retired hairdresser/owner of Hair Studio in Carrollton, she was a 1967 Graduate of Carroll County High School, a 1982 Graduate of School of Hair Design in Florence, Ky., an avid antique collector, a member of Beta Sigma Phi and a longtime member and treasurer of the Carroll County Tobacco Festival Committee.

Funeral services were held Saturday,  Oct. 20, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton with the Rev. Hardin Lowe officiating. Interment was in the  I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

Survivors include her husband, Gregg D. Hughes; son. Damon W. Lewis of Ghent, Ky.; step-daughters – Heather Hughes of Georgetown, Ky. and Megan Wilson of Morristown, Tenn.; sisters, Juanita R. Baxter of Maysville, Ky. and Glenna Young Thacker of Covington, Ga.; brother, Alec C. Young of Carrollton;  four Grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Paul W. Young.
