MADISON, Ind. – Deborah Frances Scott Spry, 59, of Madison died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at King’s Daughters’ Hospital, Madison.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, with Kathy Flint Goins, Ken Schumaker and Carla Sindone Bruner officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.
Mrs. Spry was born Dec. 23, 1948, to the late James Marion and Gladys Ruth Luckett Scott in Madison.
A lifelong Madison resident, she graduated in 1967 from Madison Consolidated High School. She graduated in 1968 from the House of James Beauty School. She attended Christ Episcopal Church in Madison.
She retired from Sodexo Food Service, where she worked at Hanover College. She was a former bartender for many years and had worked at Arkema in Carollton, Ky., for nine years as a chemical operator.
She enjoyed cooking and decorating.
Survivors include a son, Scott David Cooper Jr. of Bedford, Ky.; a step-grandson, Skylar; two sisters, Kathy Griffin and Dee (Butch) Ellis, both of Madison; and a brother-in-law, Carl William Risk of Madison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Mary Ella Meek Scott, and a sister, Dianna K. Scott Risk.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dianna Risk Endowment Fund, the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
