CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. – Donald Eugene Mitchell, 81, of Campbellsburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville, Ky.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 9, at Ransdell Funeral Home, Bedford, Ky. with the Rev. David Coy officiating. Burial was in the Moffett Cemetery, Milton, Ky. with full military honors conducted at the graveside by the Fort Knox honor detachment and the American Legion Jefferson Post 9.
Mr. Mitchell was born on July 15, 1927 in Bedford, Ky. to the late Otto and Mary Alice Jones Mitchell.
He was employed by Ford Motor Company and was a member of English Christian Church. Farming was Donald’s passion and spending time with his grandson. He was a member of the Masonic lodge for over forty-nine years at Prospect, Ky. and a proud member of the UAW.
Survivors include his wife of over sixty years; Wanda Mitchell, his son; Donald Mitchell (Sharon), one grandchild; Scott Mitchell of Simpsonville, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Elmer and Hank Mitchell.
