Drivers who hit animals should stop, tell owners

My wife and I would like to thank the lady  who stopped and let us know that our dog had been hit by a car. Weezer was a 14-year-old dog with hearing and sight issues. 

Her venture into Hwy. 55 cost her her life. I am dismayed that the person that struck her did not stop, as is the case with many people who hit animals. The people who stopped allowed me to bury her as a dog and not as a heap of roadkill. Again our thanks to her and shame on those that continued on as if it didn’t matter.
