MILTON, Ky. – Edna Mae Ogden Pyles, 84, of Milton died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hanover, Ind.
Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 22, at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Milton, with the Revs. Paul Tweedy and Lowell Ogden officiating. Burial was in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton.
Mrs. Pyles was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Trimble County to the late William Perry and Lizzie Smith Ogden. She was married to Chester Allen Pyles in La Grange, Ky., on Sept 7, 1940, in a double wedding with her twin sister.
She was employed for 15 years at the former Conn Organ Company in Madison. She and her husband owned and operated Pyles Carpet and Tile in Madison, from 1962 until retirement in 1987.
She was a member of the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Milton.
Survivors include her husband of Hanover; two daughters, Beverly Jean (Terry) Sauley of Hanover and Pamela Gay (Thomas) Gates of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, Vernon A. (Shirley) Pyles of Madison and Jerry L. (Charlotte) Pyles of Ottertail, Minn.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Troy Pyles; her twin sister, Edith Rae Odgen; an infant sister, Grace Ogden; and brothers, Elgin, Vernon, Kenneth, Paul and Joseph Ogden.
