On May 14, my wife and I got the phone call no parent wants to get. Our daughter called screaming, “Help me, Mommy.”

She was calling from inside her SUV that she had lost control of and overturned. We immediately called 911 and a State Trooper was there within a minute of our call. Emily was taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital where we were told that she had a broken back. She was transferred to Kosair Children’s Hospital. She had surgery to repair her back, but will need extensive rehab for the next couple of months.

Where do we begin? We would like to thank: Trooper Chip Perry, Trimble Co. EMS and Fire Depts. Carroll County Hospital and Staff, Carroll County EMS, all the people at Kosair’s Children’s Hospital, everyone who sent cards and gifts , all our friends that came to see Emily. Thanks to Larry Sullivan Emily’s boyfriend, you are truly a great guy.  A special thanks to the United Pentecostal Church of Carrollton and Pastor Keith Mendenhall and family. The Milton Baptist Church, The Bedford Baptist Church, The Paint Lick Baptist Church, and all the other churches in our area that sent gifts and many prayers for Emily.

I want to especially thank our family who went above and beyond help. Words cannot express our sincere and most heartfelt gratitude. Being sick is never easy but your assistance relieved a lot of the stress involved and let us focus on Emily recovering. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We won’t forget it.

Mark 11:22-24

(22) And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. (23) For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (24) Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive {them}, and ye shall have {them}.
