Several area fire departments are currently on the scene of a house fire at 2206 U.S. 42 West in Carroll County.
The home is owned by Nettie Hughes. Sheriff Jamie Kinman said no one was at home at the time the fire broke out. However, officials believe some family pets may have been inside the home.
Westside Fire Department, Ghent Fire Protection District, Carrollton Fire Department, Milton Fire Department, Bedford Fire Department, Kentucky State Police, Carroll County Sheriff's Office and Carrollton Police Department are currently on the scene.
Due to the fire, officials have closed the section of U.S. 42 W to through traffic. The road is closed at the intersection of U.S. 42 and Hwy. 36. Motorists are being diverted down Carlisle Road, officials said at the scene.
