First reading approved for 2011-12 fiscal year city, CU budgets

Carrollton City Council approved the first reading of the 2011-2012 fiscal year city budget Monday night. The second reading will be held at the next meeting, May 9.

The city’s fiscal year runs from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012. In the general fund, the balance forward from the current fiscal year to next is estimated at almost $1.5 million and the total estimated revenue is about $5.4 million for a total of $6,891,153. The total estimated appropriations for the general fund is $5,677,499, leaving an estimated $1,213,654 at the end of the fiscal year.
