Flu shots still available in county

For those hoping to avoid catching the flu this season, the flu shot is still available at several locations in Carroll County.

This year’s strand of seasonal influenza vaccine is estimated to be 62 percent effective, indicating moderate effectiveness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC used data from 1,155 children and adults with acute respiratory infection to estimate the overall effectiveness of the seasonal influenza vaccine.
