North American Stainless will seek federal approval for a Foreign-Trade Zone subzone to provide competitive tax advantages on the import and export of its materials.
NAS won local approval to seek the foreign trade zone status June 28 after making a presentation to Carroll County Fiscal Court.
The company’s application, which will be filed later this year, would be the second subzone in Carroll County. Dow Corning was granted subzone status under the Louisville and Jefferson County Riverport Authority Foreign-Trade Zone last year.
