Carrollton City Council approved a $4,000 Enterprise Incentive Program grant Monday night to Port William Historical Society after it was determined the group’s application came in prior to a moratorium imposed on spending by Mayor Dwight Louden.
Historical society president Karen Claiborne asked council to approve the money to help with ongoing restoration work at the Masterson House. She said the request filed in June was part of a project to replace the worst windows on the house.
“I understand this has been held up,” Claiborne said.
