Carroll County seniors Devin Gray and Dylan Jack ranked in the top eight in the state in their respective events in the first Outdoor Power Rankings of the 2012 season. Gray is currently ranked eighth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:10.81. He has his sights set on the school record in the boys 800 meter that was set by D’Anthony Collins at the 2008 State Track Meet with a time of 2:03.46.
Jack is currently ranked sixth in high jump with a mark of 5-10. The boys 4x400 meter relay team of Devin Gray, Evan Mefford, Taylor Byrd and Michael Burns also is currently ranked 8th in the state with a time of 3:48.24.
“As the season progresses, I look for these statistics to change and for our athletes to move up in the rankings and for some of our Lady Panthers to make it on the list as well,” head coach Joe Creager said in an email. “Thank you for everyone that has come out and supported the Panthers so far in the early goings of the season.”
