Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes reported raising $2.7 million in the first three months of the year for her Senate race — $300,000 more than the incumbent, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
The Grimes campaign released its figures Tuesday, one day after McConnell, R-Ky., reportedraising $2.4 million and his GOP challenger, Louisville businessman Matt Bevin, reported his best quarter with $1.1 million in contributions.
