Homeless count to proceed Feb. 19

The Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission is conducting a count of homess families and individuals in five rural Kentucky counties tomorrow, Feb. 19.

The counties involved are Carrol, Gallatin, Grant, Owen and Pendleton. The count originally was planned for Jan. 29, but was rescheduled because of weather.

Vicki Kemper at the Carrollton CAC is asking that anyone who is homeless, described as living in shelters or on the streets,  living with friends or family for economic reasons, living in motels or to be evicted within seven days contact her at (502) 732-5253. The CAC office is located at 220 Seventh St., Carrollton.

This count is part of the 2009 Point-In-Time Count coordinated by Kentucky Housing Corporation, the state housing finance agency. The goal is to help deterimine how to help these individuals and families use public support and social services more efficiently and reduce costs for local programs and agencies.
