Hwy. 227 crossing work forces weekend detours

Much needed repairs to the railroad tracks on Highway 227 near Hometown Pizza are set to begin Saturday and Sunday April 25 and 26, closing the heavily traveled highway for the weekend.

Signs are up now warning travelers to be aware that the road will be closed to thru traffic and a detour has been designated with signs directing traffic, according to Judge Executive Harold “Shorty” Tomlinson in Fiscal Court meeting Tuesday morning, April 14.
