As prices of gasoline and everyday expenses increase, JCTC is the perfect place to start or continue your education with its affordable tuition. In-state tuition is $144 per credit hour.
It’s not too late to sign up for the fall semester, which begins Aug. 19. Aug. 1 is the deadline for returning and transferring students to apply online for free at Jefferson.kctcs.edu. The deadline to apply for first-time freshman for fall semester was July 1.
JCTC-Carrollton Campus is offering free workshops all summer long.
Classes listed below are free. Simply call (502) 213-5209 or e-mail email@example.com to register. Attendees must complete a registration form where they must write which sessions they plan to attend on the registration form to reserve a spot.
Can’t attend every session for a series? No problem. Just state which sessions you plan on attending when registering.

July 9, 16 and 23,
Class description: Learn the basics of playing chess.
What to bring: Chess set if you have one.
July 24, 2-4 p.m.
Class description: This class will assist individuals on how to navigate Pinterest.
What to bring: TBA
July 11, 6-8 p.m.
July 18, 6-8 p.m.
Class description: General introduction to basic photography concepts, cameras and terminology.
These workshops will look at the language used to describe features and types of digital cameras and how those terms relate to the performance of the camera and cameras suitability for different types of photography. We will apply this to choosing the right camera.
What to bring: Bring a camera to learn more about the features it already has.
July 2, 6-8 p.m.
Class description: Learn modern self-defense techniques as taught by Dylan Ehrnreiter of Madison Mixed Martial Arts. This class is ideal for college bound young ladies and while it is geared toward women’s self-defense, it is open to anyone. Learn how to defeat a bigger, stronger attacker with techniques based on leverage and timing instead of power and athleticism.
What to bring: wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. Ideal attire is sweat pants/yoga pants and long sleeve underarmour.
Class size limited to 20 people.
July 16, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Class description: There is no place in the world that one should assume they are totally safe from a natural disaster. Here in Kentucky there is the possibility of you and your family being exposed to fires, floods, earthquakes, and/or tornadoes. Learn what to do before, during, and after these events to help weather even some of the worst situations.
What to bring: No requirements
July 11, 2-4 p.m.
Class description:Learn how to access both free and for pay eBooks from apps and online sites.
What to bring: Mobile devices, i.e. I Pads, IPhones, Android devices, Kindles, and Nooks.
Floral Design and Arrangements 101
July 25, 1-4 p.m.
Class description: Participants will learn basic floral design and arranging.

Spring 2013 Dean’s List
JCTC would like to announce the Dean’s List for the spring 2013 semester. Students must maintain full time status and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher to be included: Lisa Arvin, Kayla Barnes, Ethan Brown, Marvin Clark, Crystal Davis, Amanda Durbin, Tammy Hawkins, Karen Magee, Amanda Raisor, Joshua Satchwell, Treavor Smith, and Jayde Snelling.
