  Four Carrollton brothers—James F., Joseph S., George W. and Albert N. Jett—formed a partnership in 1881 and started the Jett Brothers Distillery in Carrollton. With profits from their successful business endeavors the Jett family later established the first electric light plant in Carrollton.
