Kentucky Speedway bustling to prepare for Sprint Cup

An exhaustive construction effort is underway at Kentucky Speedway to get ready for next July’s inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event at the track.
Speedway Motorsports, Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bruton Smith announced in August that the Gallatin County facility had been awarded a July 9 date on the 2011 Sprint Cup schedule. SMI owns the track that has hosted the Indy Racing League and NASCAR’s Nationwide and trucks series since 2001.
