Lady Panthers finish 1-2 in Sunshine Classic road trip

Determined to leave the Sunshine State with a win, the Lady Panthers beat the Lady Seahawks of Sunlake High School 62-14 in the third round of the Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic on Dec. 30.

Carroll County forced 30 turnovers, including 23 steals, in the win. They led 42-6 at the half. Sophomore Hannah Devine had eight steals and 13 points in the win. Junior Latasha Hunter came down with six rebounds, including four offensive boards, and scored eight points.

Carroll County lost its second round game 55-50 to the Perry County Central High School Lady Commodores, from Hazard, Ky., on Dec. 29. Devine scored 17 points, and junior Kyndal Curry had eight points and 10 rebounds in the loss. The team lost its first round game 72-42 to Woodstock High School, from Woodstock, Ga.
